Great Northern

A 7-second animated commercial for Great Northern Brewing Co., made with the agency Sick Dog Wolf Man. Hyperbeam had previously developed a distinctive 3D visual language with the agency for the brand’s cans. This project carried that language across to the bottle range and into motion.

The brief was pace and energy: hard-hitting edits and dynamic camera moves across condensation-covered bottles, cold beer and sunlit rock, capturing the feel of Queensland, where the beer is brewed. The process videos and stills below show how the spot came together.

Seven seconds is a hard limit, and it shaped everything. The frame count and every camera position were mapped up front, budgeting time for five distinct lock-ups and the transitions between them.

Palette, set and setting did the rest. For a national campaign, the spot needed to feel like Queensland: sunlit rock, cold condensation and hard light.

It was built socials-first in vertical, then rolled out into wide-screen formats for airport terminals and out-of-home.

The condensation called for a more complex build. Most condensation setups use static droplets, but this spot needed drips actually running down the bottle, with the surrounding beads absorbed by each running droplet as it passed through.

The solution was a detailed rig built in Cinema 4D's native particle system, producing dynamic condensation that moves with the drips rather than sitting still on the glass.
